Joshua 18-19: Joshua: A First In, Last Out Leader

Joshua 18 & 19

This episode covers Joshua 18 and 19! In this episode, Joshua is busy taking full control of the land, deciding where to put the Tabernacle, and finalizing the tribal allotments.

HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:

While not a Bible Bender, my takeaway of this episode was the example of a first in, last out leader. Susan said this, “Of all the men alive in Israel at this time, Joshua has been committed in service the longest. He was the first in on this mission and led a military attack against the Amalekites for Moses way back in Exodus 17. And of all the men Joshua is the last to receive his inheritance in the land.

Joshua is an excellent example of a rare type of leader – the first-in, last-out leader. These leaders are first in commitment and dedication. And when the mission is complete, they are last out, humbly advocating for others to be recognized and rewarded for the achievement ahead of them.

Great leaders are first in and last out. They set the example by being the first in commitment and the last to leave when the work is done. The leaders are responsible, proficient, humble and hard workers. They always put others first. Where can you be a first-in, last-out leader? In your family? In your church? At work?”

What was your Bible bender from  Joshua 18? Did you learn anything new?
