Joshua 17:14

Joshua 15-17: You Get What You Get + You Don’t Get Upset!

Joshua 15, 16 & 17

This episode covers Joshua 15, 16, and 17! It explains the allotments for the rest of the tribe of Judah.

HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:

My Bible bender for this episode is the symbolism involved in the tribe of Judah. Susan points it out this way, “Judah was hands down gets the most territory. Its sheer size underscores Judah’s importance in Israel. First and foremost, Judah is the privileged tribe in the line of Christ. The lion figuratively represents kingship. And the tribe of Judah would rule in Israel until “he whom it belongs” or the Messiah, comes. Verses 11-12 refers physically to the portion of land Judah was given, the wine district in the south. And it refers symbolically to the nation of Israel as the vine which God has planted and which we as gentile believers are grafted into. Today, we call Hebrew people Israelites or Jews which is short for Judahites.”

Did you know about all of those symbols tied into the tribe of Judah?

What was your Bible bender from  Joshua 15? Did you learn anything new?
