Exodus 28-29: Moses has the Plan, But Paul has the Missing Piece

Exodus 28

In this episode, we cover Exodus 28 and 29. In this passage, we see the intricate nature and symbolism that went into every part of the priest’s garments from the feet all the way up to the turban.

HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:

Today’s Bible Bender appeared when Susan discussed the ram of ordination during the Priest’s ordination. As stated in this episode,  “the purpose of this was to be a sign of fellowship called a wave offering, establishing communion between God and his people. A communion element is present. Aaron and the priests will serve God on behalf of the people. This offering is by far the most peculiar but significant, it was the final part of the consecration and implied complete dedication of their life to the service of God.

The parts of the body touched with blood have meaning:

The ears are consecrated so that they may listen to God’s commands. The thumbs are consecrated so that they would perform God’s work mediating on behalf of the people. The toes are sanctified so that they could walk in a way that is an example of the people.”

It still amazes me how God is in the details. Every thought and action has purpose. It makes me stop and think how my thoughts and actions are a reflection of Christ in me and how much I let my flesh get in the way of that. How do you think your actions and thoughts reflect Jesus? Do you nee to be more mindful of that this week?

What was your Bible bender from Exodus 28? Did you learn anything new?
