We have a lot to cover in 2 Samuel 5! So much happened in our last episode (2 Samuel 3-5) : Joab killed Abner, David cursed Joab, Baanah and Rekab killed Ish-Bosheth, and David killed Baanah and Rekab.
Despite all of the killing, David managed to unite the two kingdoms. And Israel finally became one nation under David, a king after God’s heart. This event fulfilled prophecy from the past and pointed Israel toward the future prophecy of Jesus. In 2 Samuel 5, the united nation gets a new capital.

But David is not deterred when he fails. He takes some time to be still, and he must have read up on the Book of the Law and consulted with the priests on the error of his ways. Because his next attempt is successful.
In 2 Samuel 5, we see that God is a God of second chances. When we fail, it is not the end, but an opportunity to be still, read the Work, pray and consult Godly people. Like David, we must know God’s Word to know God’s way. We can only know His Word by reading the book; that’s why in this podcast we read every word.
